Meet Latasha

DSC07765.jpg

Latasha and her husband Ronald were born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Latasha spent 33 years of her life there before the Lord called them to serve the resilient people of Illinois.

They have resided in the great City of Chicago since 2011.  Latasha and Ronald have been married for 16 years.  Together they have four wonderful children, one being a homeschooled-to-college graduate.  They are currently homeschooling their other three children, along with other children in the community.

Latasha is the founder of Christian Home Educators Support System, EPIC Cafe (Empowering Parents Igniting Communities), the Illinois State Coordinator for ParentalRights.org; the 21st Ward Republican Committeewoman; a 1776 Unites Achiever (initiative of the Woodson Center); and a former member of UrbanCure Clergy Network.

She has over 22 years of entrepreneurial experience, 14 within the real estate industry, earning several certifications in Property Management and Non-profit Housing.  Latasha received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL, with a 4.0 GPA.

For over 15 years, Latasha has been an outspoken critic of the one-size-fits-all public school system, railing against its' propensity to usurp parental authority and to sexualize and indoctrinate impressionable children with radical racial and Marxist ideologies. Latasha echoes the great work of Booker T. Washington that "education is not a thing apart from life—not a 'system,' nor a philosophy; it is direct teaching how to live and how to work."

Latasha has appeared on Fox and Friends, Newsmax, AM560 The Answer with Dan and Amy, the Black and Right Show, The Charles Love Show, and many other podcasts and outlets to date. Reading her Wall Street Journal opinion piece, "God, Parents, and the ‘1619 Project”gives more insight into her message of self-autonomy, which she believes is needed to birth real change within our communities.

On June 19, 2019, Latasha gave her personal testimony of perseverance to the Congressional House Committee on the Budget about “Poverty in America: Economic Realities of Struggling Families.”

Latasha believes that the fundamental principle for economic empowerment is to understand that God gives us the power to get wealth(Deuteronomy 8:18). Therefore, entrepreneurialism and vocational education must be at the forefront to provide meaningful change for our most vulnerable families.

“Everybody wants to be heroes to everybody’s children, said Mrs. Fields, “...but why don’t we make the parents their heroes?”

“We must hold ourselves accountable and build communities that teach the next generation how to live meaningful lives.”

Latasha has also appeared on C-SPAN discussing African American history from 1776 to the present day.

Illinois Family Institute awarded Latasha with a 2021 "Voice of Truth" award to recognize her "faithfulness and efforts to rescue students from the Apostles of Wokeism in government schools."

Latasha firmly believes that parents have the ultimate responsibility to train up, direct their children's lives, and diligently teach them, according to Proverbs 22:6 and Deuteronomy 6. In this, she believes that its' incumbent on all to hold in high regard their historical plight and values that build and enrich strong parental guidance, thriving communities, and teach children their true disposition.

Latasha is a passionate, strong, spirit-filled leader. She believes Biblical-conservative principles render a rational perspective of truth, perseverance, and triumph that resonates and exalts the resilience of all Americans, especially in the black community, and commemorates the progress of America.

Empowering parents to take the lead to protect their children and to continue to be on the frontline of this changing culture is paramount. Latasha believes in the Old Testament truth, that the old waste places will be rebuilt, the foundations of many generations will be raised, and we will be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Paths to dwell in (Isaiah 58:12).
